New Content and Events in 2025
We are growing our community through content partnership, films, and trainings
Hi all! It’s Aaron. I am the founder and Jacobs Columnist here at Southern Urbanism. I am excited to announce new content partnerships and two event programs we will bring you in 2025.
CONTENT
Starting this winter, we have two content-share partnerships to announce: Building Culture and Building Optimism.
Despite their common adjectives (or are they verbs?), Building Culture and Building Optimism are unrelated and distinct organizations, though they are both led by two of the most promising young developers practicing today. Each will be published here monthly, this year, with all content available to paying subscribers.
Austin Tunnell is the Founder and CEO of Building Culture, a holistic real estate development company dedicated to creating beautiful, resilient, and thriving places. Follow all his social media on Instagram, X, LinkedIn, podcasts, and YouTube.
Coby Lefkowitz is a real estate developer, writer, and thought leader in the world of urban planning and development. He recently published the book Building Optimism, explaining why our world looks the way it does, and how to make it better. Follow all of his socials on Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and Substack
EVENTS
Additionally, Southern Urbanism has two events in production for 2025: The Faith-Based Housing Initiative and the Better Cities Film Festival.
Faith-Based Housing Initiative is a nationwide campaign to reboot the practice of faith institutions building world-class housing on their property. It will train churches (/synagogues/mosques) on how to develop their lands, and essays by fellow Elijah Smith documenting the growth of this fledgling industry. Follow all socials at Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and Substack
Lastly, the Better Cities Film Festival will return in 2025, but there is no set date yet. After a successful first year, we are working through the logistics of growing these offerings as well. Stay tuned.
THANK YOU
We could not be more grateful for the support from our community. Southern Urbanism is a 501c3 non-profit, and all contributions are tax-deductible. To support our work and help us grow our programming, consider giving today.
Thank you for your support. Please remember to follow us on Instagram, X, and LinkedIn. And, as always, share and subscribe!
